The Varsity Inn had such a great atmosphere — there was classic rock playing and the waitstaff always had a smile on their faces, like they were truly happy to be there.
The pizza? Oh my goodness. Simply put, it is the best I’ve ever had in all my travels around the globe. Their thin-crust has just the right amount of chewiness while still maintaining that perfectly crisp texture. Not to mention, they perfectly managed to balance out their sauce and cheese with fresh toppings — I especially enjoyed their signature pepperoni slices!

#11 Papa Murphy’s | Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza
- Has some vegetarian options
From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was struck by the inviting atmosphere and friendly customer service. But it was the pizza that really wowed me.
The crust is absolutely perfect – not too thick and not too thin, with just a hint of crunchiness. The balance of cheese and sauce is just right and all the toppings are distributed evenly. And what really sets Papa Murphy’s apart is their generous portions – you can always expect to get your money’s worth!
Overall, Papa Murphy’s truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best pizza places in Highlands Ranch. My only complaint? That I have to wait for my pizza to cook when I get home – but that’s a small price to pay for a delicious slice of pizza perfection!
