The moment I walked into Joey D’s, I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma of bubbling cheese and sizzling toppings filled the air, and my stomach rumbled in anticipation. As I sat down, the overly-enthusiastic waiter, who seemed as if he was auditioning for a role in a pizza-themed Broadway musical, welcomed me like a long-lost relative. His energy was contagious, and soon I found myself tapping my feet to an imaginary pizza beat.

I decided to go for the classic deep dish pizza, which arrived at my table like a towering masterpiece. The crust was as thick as a brick, but oh-so-flaky and buttery.
